What our Rosenman Innovators say ….
“Through the Rosenman Innovators I was able to meet investors, advisors, and fellow CEOs who helped me both get introduced to investors and navigate the process. I would recommend the Innovators program to a friend or fellow CEO: it is one of the most accessible friendly welcoming communities that I have found in the medtech space.”
“Early-stage companies, it’s really hard to get the first contact with investors. We built those connections through UCSF Rosenman and we got our lead investor for our seed round through this program.”
“In your first startup you don’t have enough connections. As I was an immigrant, that made it even harder. I really didn’t have any connections in medical devices. Like when I started it was literally zero. I didn’t know any VCs, I didn’t know any executives that I can reach out to and get help from. Winning that award, the Rosenman Innovator program, really helped to find those connections.”
“The quality of the investors was refreshing. Similarly with the mentor network, they all had strong experience as operators in the healthcare startup scene or the payer or provider side, so you were having in depth conversations with subject matter experts.”
“The Rosenman Innovator Program has been a terrific resource for finding experts to help grow the company at every step: regulatory, clinical, development, legal, and otherwise. The Program’s seminars are honed in and focused on critical issues and topics highly relevant to development in diagnostics, devices, and therapeutics.”
“Of the many benefits of the Rosenman Innovator program, the group presentation training for the semi-finalists and the one-on-one pitch presentation coaching from Bold Echo were incredibly relevant and valuable. Even for experienced presenters, Bold Echo’s slide by slide (and sentence by sentence) constructive commentary dramatically improved my pitch’s engagement and interest, and was the best personal coaching experience in my career. This preparation pushed my pitch over the line to make it investment-worthy.”
“Tiatros is very lucky to be a Rosenman Innovator. The program fostered our collaboration with the San Francisco Veteran Affairs Health Care System. We look forward to continuing to explore ways to serve Veterans in the VA system.”
“The Rosenman Innovators program helped Moray Medical with wonderful mentors and services (including access to the very impressive Gore Innovation Center) during the program. What has been even better is the continuing support of the Rosenman Institute community after the program, including an introduction to the lead investor of our recent $3.3 million round!”
“The Rosenman Innovator program was a fantastic experience and opportunity to get exposure to seed-stage healthcare investors and other industry stakeholders. We met two investors who participated in our round through the program.”
“We connected with early-stage investors key to closing our seed round and raising more than $2 million in grant funding. The services provided by Cannon Quality Group included more than six months of manufacturing in a controlled environment and strategic continued input to our QMS that helped us advance significantly over a short period of time.”
“Through Rosenman Innovators, we were able to partner with Bayflex Solutions to conduct essential mechanical and stress testing of our product.”
“The Innovator program connected us with mentors who were successful founders, sophisticated investors, and scientific experts. This unique model enabled us to accelerate our progress over a few short months, successfully raise our seed round, and expand our advisory board. We have loved being a part of the Rosenman community and highly recommend the Rosenman Innovator program to any medical device or technology startup! “
“The Rosenman Innovator program was game-changing for our company. We [met] several highly-experienced mentors whose guidance helped us make drastic changes in our organization and strategy… and optimize our commercial path.”
“Liv Labs adopted a more aggressive plan and visionary scope as a result of intensive peer and investor mentoring in preparation for the Rosenman Innovator program pitch.”

How It Works
All sessions are virtual.
Each spring, we invite startups in diagnostics, digital health, health services, and medical devices to pitch our panel of judges (a mix of financial/strategic investors, subject matter expertise and clinicians).
The judges select 10-12 companies who:
Receive coaching for your messaging strategy, product development, IP, clinical/regulatory, reimbursement, marketing, and business strategy from our network of experts.
Receive insight and recommendations from our team on how to hone their investor pitch deck, and pitch a group of determined investors and industry partners. Previous Innovators have had investments made in their Series A rounds as a result of this program.
Win valuable in-kind prizes to help accelerate progress.
Join our community of founders. Members receive invitations to special events and networking opportunities with investors and experts.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you can’t find your answers, please contact us here.
Our company is not based in California or the United States. Are we eligible?
We are not affiliated with a university. Does that affect our application in any way?
Our company is developing a digital technology. Do you only take medical devices?
Companies are eligible if they are in the health technology space, which includes digital health and data solutions.
We are not incorporated yet. Should we apply?
We prefer to select companies that are further along toward commercialization, and incorporation is the first step, so we would not recommend applying. But please consider the Rosenman Innovators program next year and check out our Startup Operation Support for help with incorporation.
We do not yet have any funding. Are we eligible?
We are looking for high-growth potential companies that have made some progress, which can include proof-of-concept results or some industry interest. In the past we have selected companies seeking seed-stage through Series A and sometimes Series B.
Are there any specific requirements re: disease or condition that our technology targets?
Not at all. We welcome health solutions across the board.
