Pamela Munster, MD, Founder & CEO, Alessa Therapeutics

Dr. Pamela Munster is a native of Switzerland, and a professor of medicine at the University of California San Francisco, where she is a leader of the Experimental Therapeutics Program/Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, a Director of The Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit, and a co-leader of the Center for BRCA Research. In addition to her clinical research, her laboratory based research, is focused on epigenetics and developing novel strategies to treat patients with incurable cancers. Pamela founded Alessa Therapeutics which is focused on the sustained localized delivery of anti-cancer agents and she has many years of experience in bringing novel cancer therapeutics into the clinic. She serves on multiple local, national, and international committees focused on developing new treatments for cancer and serves on the board of directors for private companies. As part as her academic focus she has authored textbooks and is a frequent lecturer. Pamela is passionate about breast awareness with campaigns in the US, UAE, and India and she has recently authored a book describing the challenges on living with cancer in Twisting Fate.
