SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Aug 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Spinal Singularity announced that they received an Employment Achievement Award from the Triumph Foundation. The award provides funds to help support individuals living with paralysis continue their path to gain meaningful employment.

Andrew Skinner, CEO and Founder of the Triumph Foundation, said, “I am so excited to honor Derek and Spinal Singularity with this Employment Achievement Award. The work they are doing to help catheter users could have a massive impact on the quality of life for people with spinal injury and we are so happy to support this cause.”

Funds granted to Spinal Singularity will be utilized to offset costs from upcoming clinical trials. Derek Herrera, Founder and CTO of Spinal Singularity, said, “Fundraising is tough for any startup. We have had very promising results in the clinic thus far and are so excited to launch our next clinical study. Once we collect enough data from this study we plan to file for CE Mark Approval and FDA 510(k) Clearance.”

Spinal Singularity has been developing the Connected Catheter, an innovative, smart catheter system designed for adult males with Chronic Urinary Retention and/or Neurogenic Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction (NLUTD). The clinical study recently obtained IRB approval and investigators are actively recruiting at the following sites (with more to be added soon):
