Tejal is the Chair of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences at UCSF and has served as chair of the UCSF/UC Berkeley Joint Graduate Group in Bioengineering where she oversaw more than 170 students and 100 faculty. She is a fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) the Biomedical Engineering Society, and the National Academy of Medicine. She is a recipient of the Paul Dawson Biotechnology Award, was selected as one of the “Brilliant 10” Top Scientists, received the Visionary Science Award, and the Global Indus Technovator Award.
