Jemima Meyer founded HealthLeap to address disease-related malnutrition — which affects 1 in 3 hospital patients and increases in-hospital mortality risk by 3-5x. Their machine learning model detects malnutrition earlier and more accurately than conventional screening tools. HealthLeap also help dietitians provide faster nutrition care with NutriLeap, a clinical decision support app.
After finishing her BSc (Hons) Dietetics degree, Jemima completed a community service year as a clinical dietitian at the military health service in South Africa. She gave up a scholarship for a Master’s in Public Health Nutrition to focus on her digital healthcare startup.
