James H. Powell, M.D., Powell is a former member of the Secretary’s (HHS) Advisory Committee and Human Research Protections, and PhRMA’s Clinical Pharmacology/Clinical Trials Committee. He is a graduate and former faculty member (Pharmacology) at Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Powell has over 25 years of pharmaceutical research executive experience and a long history of advocating for diversity in clinical trials as Principal Investigator of National Medical Association’s Project IMPACT (Increase Minority Participation and Awareness of Clinical Trials).
