Peritoneal dialysis patients take 3-5 days to identify infection presence, consequently 28% of patients are hospitalized although only 3% of infections are not treatable with an antibiotic. The CloudCath device detects infection presence in 8-12 hours and immediately alerts dialysis providers via a cloud based HIPAA compliant database. Our medical team - led by the Chief of Nephrology at Stanford University - predict a 75% reduction in infection driven hospitalization rates, corresponding to $3Bn of annual cost savings. Our Cooley filed IP covers a wide range of catheter applications (Urinary Foley Catheters, Central Venous Lines, PICC Lines, etc...) and we are in the process of building the worlds largest data set on granular infection manifestations that will drive the future of infection diagnostics.
