John Hallock, Senior Vice President, Transcarent
John Hallock is a senior strategist and communications executive with two decades of experience designing and executing global communication programs for some of the nation’s leading digital health and life science companies. He is recognized for expertise in successfully integrating and managing all the functions of public relations, media relations, social media, executive communications, change management, investor relations, government affairs, community affairs, analyst relations, and internal communications.
He is currently the senior vice president of communications for Transcarent, a new comprehensive, consumer-directed health and care platform for employees of self-insured employers. He most recently was senior vice president of corporate communications at Livongo Health (Nasdaq: LVGO), the leading digital health company using Applied Health Signals technology to helps people better manage their chronic conditions. In this role he oversaw the company’s strategic communications and directed media and investor relations activities for Livongo’s 2019 bellwether IPO that was the largest in consumer digital health history. In 2020, he spearheaded Livongo’s COVID-19 investor and communications market repositioning efforts and subsequent $18.5 billion dollar merger between Livongo and Teladoc Health (NYSE: TDOC) to form the world’s largest virtual care company.
Prior to Livongo has led corporate communications, government affairs, and strategic media relations programs for industry leading digital health and healthcare technology companies including athenahealth, Imprivata and CareCloud. At athenahealth, he was the chief architect for all facets of the company’s communications programs including M&A activity, national physician advocacy initiatives, and thought leadership campaigns. At Imprivata, he helped execute the company’s post-IPO national awareness programs and market repositioning as a leading healthcare security and patient identification company and eventual acquisition by Thoma Bravo. Prior to Imprivata he helped manage CareCloud’s venture funding raises and designed national integrated communication campaigns that helped land the company on the Inc. 500 and Forbes Magazine’s list of America’s Most Promising Companies.
John and his teams have received numerous national awards for media relations and financial communications from PR Week, PR Daily Magazine and the SABRE Awards. He was named to PR Week’s Magazine’s prestigious ‘40 under 40’ list which recognizes the nation’s top agency, corporate, and nonprofit communications professionals. John is also an advisor to CityBlock Health, a leading value-based healthcare provider for Medicaid and lower-income Medicare beneficiaries.
John received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Radford University.
