UCSF Rosenman Institute Welcomes Barbara Wachsman to Advisory Board

San Francisco, CA, May 2, 2025 The UCSF Rosenman Institute proudly announces that Barbara Wachsman, Senior Advisor at Frazier Healthcare Partners, has joined its Advisory Board.

Barbara brings more than 25 years of experience across the healthcare ecosystem. Her career includes leadership roles working with hospitals, physicians, payers, benefit consultants, and large employers. At The Walt Disney Company, she served as Director of Strategy and Engagement for Enterprise Benefits. There, she led initiatives to advance healthcare access and affordability, ran Disney’s on-site clinic operations, and created innovation platforms like the Disney Health Zone and Strategy Lab.

Throughout her career, Barbara has focused on building high-quality, outcomes-based healthcare delivery models. She is well known for developing direct provider relationships that prioritize quality and measurable impact. Her deep experience working across multiple sectors makes her a powerful voice for change and innovation.

Currently, Barbara advises multiple early-stage companies and serves on several boards. These include the National Quality Forum, Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, QueensCare, and the UCSF Rosenman Institute. She is a founding member and faculty of the Employer Healthcare Innovation Roundtable (EHIR), and she launched its provider-side counterpart, engaging major health systems around innovation. Barbara recently completed a seven-year term with the American Board of Medical Specialties, where she served as Chair of the Public Member Caucus and as an Executive Committee Member.

Barbara holds Master’s degrees in Public Health and City Planning from UC Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s degree from Scripps College, where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa.

“Barbara’s deep understanding of the healthcare system and commitment to innovation will help guide how we catalyze meaningful change,” said Christine Winoto, Founder and Director of the UCSF Rosenman Institute. “We’re thrilled to welcome her to our Advisory Board.”

Barbara’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as the UCSF Rosenman Institute deepens its efforts to connect entrepreneurs with the resources they need, convene leaders across the healthcare ecosystem, and catalyze breakthrough solutions that improve lives. Her expertise and guidance will play a vital role in shaping the future of healthcare innovation at Rosenman.
